My husband and I have been trying for another baby since our wedding night, after almost a year of no success, I was starting to lose faith that we would have another baby. Until one morning when Christopher was cooking breakfast for us and we needed some more bread to make toast. I had been sick off and on for a few days but didn’t think anything of it, until I went to Walgreens and saw the pregnancy test and decided “what the heck?!” I bought it, took it and finally it was positive!!! I cried with tears of joys, we tried to contain the excitement as we weren’t sure when we should tell our boys. After breakfast we Facetimed our moms and before we could say anything they both guessed that we were bringing another baby into the world. Everyone was full of excitement. I know that you usually wait to share the news, just in case something was to happen, but we decided that if we had to go through something as tragic as that we would want our families love and support during that time anyways, so we continued to share the great news. We talked about how we would tell the boys and when and decided that they should know as well. We sat down with them and told them that now Bentley would get to be a big brother too. Chase was excited and said “you’re having another baby??!!” and with Bentley we had to explain that mommy had a baby in her tummy and that he was now a big brother too. He put his eye to my belly button and said “ I can’t see it?” he then ran to his room to grab his tape measure and measured my stomach telling me that I was 100! Still not sure what that means exactly.
Now let’s skip ahead a few weeks, we found out that we’re due on March 27, 2017, with a GIRL! We couldn’t be more excited, we called our moms again which of course they were filled with joy to find out that they would have their first granddaughter, Paityn Grace. The day we found out the shopping sprees began. Her Nursery is just about done, with only needing a little end table and a crib mattress. We’ve even got all the accessories, rock n play sleeper, swing, snuggle nest, play yard. Etc. Now we have 18 weeks to stock up on all those adorable baby girl clothes. Since some time has passed since we told our boys about their sister, Chase is accepting to the fact that he isn’t getting another brother but instead a “needy” sister, as he says. He wasn’t too thrilled about it being a girl. Bentley is too young to care either way but the jealousy has already started! He’s the baby and he loves being the baby. He hasn’t liked that all the Amazon packages that come to the house lately are for his sister and not him, he says “for Paityn AGAIN?” The last thing to arrive was a huge play yard, so with that I was able to tell him that it was for both him and his sister, which he thought was great! It will be quite an adjustment for him when she arrives as he already doesn’t like sharing mommy and daddy with his big brother. But I think once he sees that she isn’t taking us away he will love having a baby in the house. I will go into more detail about how we prepare our baby for the new baby in another post. I am very excited to share our pregnancy journey with you guys and all the milestones after, I hope you enjoy the new journeys of Lizards Laughter and Love.
